MPC of the Month: Get Discovered
Not a job. A spotlight. Every month I introduce one standout person to founders and hiring managers. Great at what you do, but nobody knows it yet? Let’s fix that.
We usually respond within three days
Context
Every month I share my MPC of the Month on LinkedIn(and soon on YouTube and Substack).
MPC stands for Most Placeable Candidate: the person any team hiring for that profile would be lucky to get.
I meet a lot of great people.
Some are rare and truly great, even if early in their career.
Those are the ones I want the world to see.
This is where you raise your hand.
Please read this carefully before you submit!
This is a general submission, not an application for a specific job.
By submitting, you agree that:
Our interview will be recorded.
If you’re selected, I can use short clips and highlights from it, and name and tag you on LinkedIn and other channels.
You actually want to be seen. If you’d prefer to stay under the radar, that’s completely fine, but then this isn’t the right form for you. (Otherwise, check the General Submission)
I’ll always check with you again before anything goes public!
How selection works
I read every submission myself.
I interview the ones that stand out.
At least once a month, I pick the best person I’ve interviewed who’s also given me the okay.
Yes, there’s a selection process!
Submit the Entire form, please.
A video.
This is the important part. Short or long, phone or studio, it doesn’t matter. You might as well be walking while recording.(Just please avoid recording in the bathroom.)
Tell me who you are, why you’re applying, and what makes you different.
This is your best shot, so use it.The full form.
Every field. Links to your work, projects, GitHub, portfolio, writing, a game you built at 2 am, anything that shows what you can do. Maybe your current side-project or personal full-time project while looking for a job and/or freelancing. ETC
Anything WORTH sharing,
A standard resume with a generic cover letter most probably won’t make it.
Nothing personal. It just doesn’t tell me anything a hundred other submissions don’t.
If that’s all you’ve got, the video needs to be amazing.
One more thing
If you’ve read this far, somewhere in your video, say: “Don’t half-ass it.”
That’s how I work. Whatever I do, I either give it my best or I don’t do it at all.
I’m looking for people who work the same way.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Here’s the first episode: link. I kept it raw on purpose, with minimal editing. Better cuts, proper highlights and maybe full interviews are coming, and with your help it’ll keep getting better.
